Gilsonite in Foundry

Gilsonite is used as a carbonate additive in casting sands, which creates more smooth plates on gray iron molds.

Gilsonite is mixed with Sea coal and is used as a special adhesive for casting sand, which reduces the malfunctioning of casting operation.

It also improves the release of the template. Gilsonite is also used for casting as a tool for forming metals.

Gilsonite is used for mixing with chemical compounds such as magnesium and hydrated lime for desulphurisation in the steel industry.

In general, it can be said that Gilsonite reduces the process in the foundry and reduces the reaction between the mold and the melt, which makes the mold more easily separated and also reduces the final waste and makes better payments.
